[Los Angeles, CA] — Jump! Swing! Go Webs Go! Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends has made its way to Disney Junior. This Marvel animation is the first ever to be geared at preschoolers. The show features Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy, the "Spidey team" who learns the importance of teamwork, problem solving, and friendship, while trying to save the day. The lessons in these episodes are perfect for young children. It teaches them about using their own special talents and working with others to help the community.

Livi Pretending to be Gwen from "Spidey"

Livi could not get enough of Spidey. She loves pretending she is Gwen, jumping around the house. I love that Gwen is confident, fierce, and has her own ideas that don't need approval from the boys. Good job Marvel and Disney for empowering young girls everywhere and giving Livi a superhero she can identify with. I also think the show reaches beyond preschool age kids to early elementary school aged kids as well. Definitely a win win for families with kids in different age groups, no fighting over what show to watch, am I right? Another major plus for us is that Spidey and His Amazing Friends is full of excitement and adventure, but does a great job of keeping the villains from being too terrifying. With a little one who gets nightmares very easily this was a major win. As an adult I enjoyed seeing this show too and loved seeing some of the usual Marvel characters like Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Black Panther.

Spidey and His Amazing Friends has inspired us at home to get moving too! We have been setting up obstacle courses, training to be a superhero, and well just having a ball. If you have cones at home (Amazon.com : cyrico 7 Inch Training Cones, 24 Pack Soccer Cones Sports Agility Field Marker Colored Plastic Traffic Cones for Basketball Football Skating Drills - Indoor and Outdoor Games : Sports & Outdoors) have your little one set them up zig-zag or in any format they want. Then use a timer to see who can run through the cones the fastest. We were gifted the awesome Spidey Web Slinger from Hasbro and used this in our game as well (Marvel Spidey And His Amazing Friends Spidey Web Slinger : Target). We timed who could knock down the cones the fastest with the Web Slinger. It is amazing how fast kids can move, ha-ha, Livi definitely won. Mom and dad were the winners though, because it sure tired Livi out!
